I’m a freelance copywriter, proofreader and journalist based in Hertfordshire in the UK.
All copy needs checking but proofreading your own or relying on spellchecker is risky; I can do that for you, too.
Think of it as shining your shoes before meeting professionals, or polishing the glasses and only then serving drinks.
I’m a sports science graduate but soon became a journalist before working in the press offices of sports governing bodies, wildlife charities and universities.
I turned freelance in 2010, mostly writing features for environment, activity and adventure magazines.
In 2015 I trained as a proofreader with the Publishing Training Centre and Society for Editors and Proofreaders.
I now combine writing and proofreading skills in the services I offer clients.
Away from the desk I run, cycle and swim, and now and then tackle triathlons. I sing with Rock Choir and bell-ring nearby, in a novice kind of way.
I’m a reluctant cook but enthusiastic eater. And I’m always keen to travel, ideally with the bike.
If you have something you’d like written or text that needs checking do get in touch. I’ll be pleased to help.
